The John D. Dingell Veteran Medical Center is one of the newest VA facilities in the
countryand provides service to more than 330,000 Veterans living in Wayne, Oakland,
Macomb, and St. Clair counties. This population represents approximately

Since 1953, the Veteran Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) has provided
state-of-the-art healthcare services to the nearly 57,000 Veterans living in a 15-county area of Michigan
and northwest Ohio utilized the VAAAHS.
The main hospital campus located in Ann Arbor
serves as a referral center for specialty care and operates 105 acute care beds
and 40 Community Living Center (extended care) beds. More than 455,000
outpatient visits were made at our facilities in fiscal year 2011; there were
nearly 6,000 inpatient episodes of care provided in the hospital and extended
care center.

The Battle Creek Veteran Medical Center consists of 104 medical and psychiatric beds, 32 residential rehabilitation beds, and 103 nursing home care unit beds. In addition, specialized services offered include a Palliative Care Unit, a Substance Abuse Clinic, a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Program and a Domicilliary.
Since 1924, the Battle Creek, Michigan Veteran Medical Center has been improving the health of the men and women who have so proudly served our nation and consider it a privilege to provide services to more than 217,000 Veterans living in a 20-county area of western Michigan.

Oscar G. Johnson Veteran Medical Center is located in the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan. The facility oversees community-based outpatient
clinics (CBOC) in Michigan (Ironwood, Hancock, Marquette, Sault Ste.
Marie and Menominee) and Wisconsin (Rhinelander) that serve 15 counties
in Michigan and 10 counties in Wisconsin.
It also operates a rural
outreach clinic in Manistique, Michigan. The OGJVAMC has the largest
geographic patient service area east of the Mississippi River, home to
approximately 53,000 Veterans, 23,863 of whom are enrolled in VA’s
health care system. Five hundred eighty staff, including 30 physicians
and over 140 nurses, provides primary and selected secondary care.
